Thermal stress accommodation in dip cast lead zirconate‐titanate ferroelectric films on flexible substrates

چکیده
Piezoelectric thin films were dip coat deposited onto flexible metal substrates to investigate the dependence of dielectric and ferroelectric properties on coefficient thermal expansion mismatch substrate thickness. The bending stiffness was controlled by thickness substrate. Grazing incidence X-ray diffraction displayed distinct peak splitting for [Pb0.98▪0.01(Zr0.52Ti0.48)Nb0.02O3] Pt, Ni, Ag, stiff Ni substrates, where out-of-plane d-spacing integrated area c-domains highest with largest film compressive stress. As expected, lead zirconate titanate (PZT) Si under tensile stress contained more in-plane domains. permittivity in PZT lowest thick while remanent polarization opposite trend, commensurate residual state as well resistance a strain-relief mechanism. irreversible Rayleigh decreased dramatically upon poling compared substrates; α ε / i n t l ${\alpha _\varepsilon }/{\varepsilon _{initial}}$ ratio 56% higher relative at 100 Hz prior electrical poling. This investigation distinguishes impact flexibility from domain mobility provides dip-coating conditions high-quality piezoelectric any

Residual Stress in Cu Sputtered Films on Glass Substrates at Different Substrate Temperatures
Copper films of 300 nm thickness deposited by planar magnetron sputtering on glass substrates, for substrate temperatures between 300 and 500 K, and deposition rate of 10 ?s?1. Microstructure of these films was obtained by X-ray diffraction, while the texture mode of diffractometer was used for stress measurement by the sin2? technique. The components of the stress tensor are obtained using mea...
متن کاملEmerging Plastic Films for Flexible Electronics Substrates
Along with the other enabling technologies for flexible electronics, substrates must be designed to meet the needs of this new branch of microelectronics. The major design requirements for polymer flexible electronics substrates are discussed and 3 polymers that are currently being investigated are introduced as viable solutions. The Need for Flexible Substrates Flexible electronics may have th...
متن کاملQuenched growth of nanostructured lead thin films on insulating substrates
Lead island films were obtained via vacuum vapor deposition on glass and ceramic substrates at 80 K. Electrical conductance was measured during vapor condensation and further annealing of the film up to room temperature. The resistance behavior during film formation and atomic force microscopy of annealed films were used as information sources about their structure. A model for the quenched gro...
متن کاملLead-free KNbO3 ferroelectric nanorod based flexible nanogenerators and capacitors.
In spite of high piezoelectricity, only a few one-dimensional ferroelectric nano-materials with perovskite structure have been used for piezoelectric nanogenerator applications. In this paper, we report high output electrical signals, i.e. an open-circuit voltage of 3.2 V and a closed-circuit current of 67.5 nA (current density 9.3 nA cm(-2)) at 0.38% strain and 15.2% s(-1) strain rate, using r...
متن کاملFerroelectric domain scaling and switching in ultrathin BiFeO3 films deposited on vicinal substrates
We report on electrically switchable polarization and ferroelectric domain scaling over a thickness range of 5–100 nm in BiFeO3 films deposited on [110] vicinal substrates. The BiFeO3 films of variable thickness were deposited with SrRuO3 bottom layer using the pulsed laser deposition technique. The domains are engineered into preferentially oriented patterns due to substrate vicinality along t...
